Bacon Wrapped Dates

Sweat and salty, what could be better than bacon wrapped dates?

This recipe couldn’t be easier to prepare. Simple ingredients and even simpler preparation instructions, you can’t go wrong with this recipe.

Ingredients:

Medjool Dates – you can find these dates in almost any grocery store, but we prefer to buy them at a high-end store in that they typically have the plumpest and best quality dates.

Bacon – although you can use any bacon in this recipe, my family prefers an even balance between the meat and fat portions. Having enough fat in the bacon allows for the flavor of the bacon to infuse into the date when cooked,

Instructions:

1) Start off by pitting each of the dates, if they aren’t pitted already,

2) Lay the raw bacon strip flat onto your cutting board, stretch it out some so that you have the full length of the bacon available to you,

3) Lay the date at one end of the bacon strip and roll towards the other end,

4) Place the wrapped date into a frying pan and cook on medium heat until the bacon becomes crispy (to avoid the bacon from unraveling in the pan and away from the date, place the wrapped date with the seam first into the pan), and make sure that all sides of the wrapped date are cooked,

5) When crispy, remove the wrapped dates and place on a large plate lined with paper towels and let the delicacy sit for a moment on the towels, then move them to a tapas serving dish,

6) And that’s it, add your plate to the other tapas plates you have previously created and prepare to enjoy another Spanish delicacy.
